120 restaurants participated in January 2023's event
From its beginnings in January 2012 with 13 restaurants participating, the event has bloomed into a behemoth, transforming what were the two quietest weeks of the year for restaurants into two of the busiest.
With more than 115 venues taking part, the event sees over 50,000 diners take advantage of £10, £15, and £20 menus in many of Newcastle's finest eateries, and delivers an economic boost for the sector in excess of £1.8m across the two events each year.
Newcastle Restaurant Week has become one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the city's annual calendar, with newcomers to the area regularly signing up for the event in advance thanks to their awareness of its impact.
Backed by a heavyweight cross-channel marketing campaign, as well as extensive press, radio, and television coverage, and exhaustive social media presence, Newcastle Restaurant Week continues to deliver tangible benefits to participating venues when they need it most.
“Newcastle Restaurant Week is a significant boost to our business at notoriously quiet times of the year. We know we can count on the event to fill our restaurant and provide a tangible economic uplift, as well as delivering us the opportunity to impress new diners and convert them into regulars.”
